Car Parking
Both daily and long-term parking facilities are available at the airport. Car parks can be found in front of each terminal, in the Central Terminal Area (CTA) parking area; the Red car park in front of Terminals 8 and 9 is closed from time to time, due to ongoing construction work (during these times, a free shuttle bus runs from the Green car park in front of Terminals 1, 2 and 3 to Terminals 8 and 9). The long-term car park is situated 6.5km (4 miles) from the terminals, at Lefferts Boulevard. The Howard Beach Station train runs between the long-term parking stations A or B and the Airline Terminal 1 (journey time: 8 minutes). The AirTrain JFK operates from the Airline Terminal 1 to the other terminals. Passengers using the long-term car park should allow for at least 30 minutes to reach the terminal. Car Rental Options
Major companies, like Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz and National, are all represented at the airport. Desks (or courtesy telephones) are available in each terminal, on the Arrivals level. Courtesy transport is available to take passengers to car hire offices along the Van Wyck Expressway.
